Charlene and I just got back from having hot chocolate and some good studying at Atomic Coffee downtown, which is our Friday night ritual, we walk there usually as soon as it gets dark and we just chill out together, study, and shake off the stress of the week. Downtown Fargo is a pretty neat place at night, it's cleaned up quite a bit, there are new buildings, and there's always stuff going on. I feel super connected to my community when I'm downtown - even if I'm just... there - not really involved with anything. I think I'm the kind of person that just likes to watch - I'm a night owl. Charlene, not so much. She's like a barn swallow, because she's ridiculously active all day and impossible to catch, so at night when she slows down, I finally get my turn to be with her.
Charlene is graduating this semester - I'm super proud of her! She's graduating with honors and with THREE majors. Wonderwoman. Don't let it go to your head Char! Not that you would.... you totally would. I'm excited to have family and friends come visit and celebrate the fruits of Charlene's labor - 5.5 hard years (without breaks from classes during the summers) of intense overstuffed class schedules. The prize you win - a piece of paper with a stamp and some signatures. That's the only physical thing of course, you've gained so much more... and yet lost SO MUCH (money!) Charlene used to sit her brother down every day and play school - so this is like Char's childhood dream... maybe that's why she has gone through the education system with more... finesse? Though she may not agree with everything she has been taught, she has proven herself as more than capable to her peers and superiors not only at NDSU but at the U of M - which Charlene would be quick to remind me of-is a much more respectable school (She left for me (what an honor! (triple parentheses!))) I, on the other hand, still have some time to go - I'll be graduating within about the same time period - but with only one major (hence my note about Char having the finesse.)
On a much more here and now note, this weekend we plan on going on a double date with our good friends Sam and Dan. You know, it's weird being the first of your friends and siblings to be getting married. It's weird. It was weird, now it's getting better. Our friends are slowly but surely pairing up with other people, which is expanding our group of friends and finally there isn't that "Oh, they're married and I'm single" awkwardness. Well, it's still kind of there, but with fewer people - being married is great! But hey, not everyone is meant for that and that's cool too. I hope everyone can experience something like what Charlene and I have. Why? Because it's AWESOME.
I just bought an iPod Touch and it's ALSO AWESOME!
Up is a great movie.
Well, that's us for now.
We'll have pics next time.

14 (school) days left of student teaching....
I don't hate it! I'm just sick and tired of working a full time job and not getting paid and never seeing Luke!!!
